Guest Seating and Tickets

Tickets are Required for Entrance to the Beckerman Recreation Center

Tickets

  • Students will receive the number of tickets requested on the Participation Form (up to a MAXIMUM of 4 tickets)
  • Tickets will be available for pick-up, along with academic regalia (cap and gown) at the Campus Store, beginning Wednesday, January 2 - Saturday, January 19, 2013
  • Students participating in the Commencement ceremony will not need a ticket for entrance to the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center
  • All guests, including children over the age of 2, will require a ticket for entrance to the Beckerman Recreation Center
Please Note
Selling or purchasing commencement tickets is prohibited by the University of New Haven. All allegations of ticket selling and purchasing will be fully investigated and violators will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including the offender being excluded from participating in the commencement ceremony.

Seating

  • Doors to the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center will open at 12:30 p.m. to the general public
  • Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis
  • Guests who want to sit together at the Commencement ceremony are asked to arrive together
  • Programs will be distributed by ushers
  • The procession will begin at 1:45 p.m. - Guests are asked to be in their seats at this time
  • The Commencement ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will last approximately 2 hours
  • Students and guests are asked to show respect and remain in their seats until the conclusion of the Commencement ceremony
  • Individuals who engage in inappropriate or disruptive behavior may be removed from the area
  • Students and guests are asked to silence all electronic devices
  • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited

Guests with Disabilities

  • A handicapped-accessible area will be available for guests with disabilities at the Beckerman Recreation Center
  • Seating will be limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis
  • Please visit the Guests with Disabilities section of the website for information regarding handicapped seating

Live Feed

  • The University will offer a live feed of the Commencement ceremony in Dodds Theatre, located on the University's Main Campus
  • No tickets are required for the live feed
  • Seating will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis
  • The Commencement ceremony will also be streamed live on the University's website at newhaven.edu/commencement
