Community Psychology Program Information



Community psychology focuses on solutions to human problems in a wide variety of settings, developing theory, research and practice to enhance the functioning of individuals, families, groups, institutions, and entire communities.  For over 40 years, the UNH Master’s Program in Community Psychology (MACP) has successfully prepared graduates for professional careers in mental health and related human services.  Opportunities for knowledge and skill development are available in all of the following areas:

  •     Counseling, psychotherapy, group and family treatment
  •     Personality assessment
  •     Case management and client advocacy
  •     Crisis intervention
  •     Primary and secondary prevention
  •     Organizational consultation
  •     Program planning and development
  •     Agency and program administration
  •     Networking and interagency collaboration

  •     Community development and social change
