Commencement Day Schedule

Tickets are Required for Winter Commencement
  • Students participating in the Winter Commencement ceremony on Saturday, January 19, 2013 will receive the number of tickets they requested on the Commencement Participation Form (up to a MAXIMUM of 4 tickets)
  • Tickets will be available for pick-up, along with academic regalia (cap and gown) from the Campus Store, from Wednesday, January 2 - Saturday, January 19, 2013, during normal store hours
  • Graduating students do not need a ticket
  • All guests, including children 2 years of age and older, will require a ticket for entrance to the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center

 

Commencement Day Schedule

Winter Commencement will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013
at the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center, located on the University's Main Campus

12:30 p.m.
Doors to the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center open for general admission

1:00 p.m.
All students participating in the Winter Commencement ceremony are to arrive and check-in (location to be announced)

1:30 p.m.
All participating students must be lined-up

1:45 p.m.
Procession to begin - All guests are asked to be in their seats and remain in their seats during the procession

2:00 p.m.
Commencement ceremony to begin

4:00 p.m. (approx.)
Commencement ceremony to end - All graduating students and their guests are invited to a reception immediately following the Commencement ceremony in the Echlin Dining Hall, located in the lower level of Bartels Hall, the student center

 

 Student Line-Up Information
  • All students participating in the Winter Commencement ceremony should bring their academic regalia (tassel, cap and gown and hood, if a graduate student) with them to the Commencement ceremony
  • No regalia will be available at the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center on Commencement day
  • Upon arrival at the Beckerman Recreation Center, all participating students need to check-in at the registration desk (location to be announced) for the identification card they will hand to the reader when they are in line to cross the stage
  • Undergraduate Degree Students will line-up, march and be seated by College (College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, Tagliatela College of Engineering and the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences)
  • Master's Degree Students will line-up, march and be seated as one group
  • Master's Degree Students should carry their hood over their right arm as hooding will take place during the Commencement ceremony
  • Faculty marshals will lead the procession and will be available to answer questions
  • Purses are not to be carried and will present a security problem if let in the Beckerman Recreation Center - Please leave all personal effects with family and friends

 

General Information
  • Graduation memorabilia will be availabe at the University's Campus Store, located on the University's Main Campus - The Campus Store will be open from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Commencement day, Saturday, January 19, 2013
  • Please show respect - We ask that all students participating in the Commencement ceremony and their guests remain in their seats throughout the entire ceremony
  • Individuals who engage in inappropriate or disruptive behavior may be removed from the area
  • Please silence all electronic devices
  • Alcoholic beverages are not permitted
