  • 6,000 square-foot two-level fitness space
  • The upper level contains a wide variety of cardiovascular and selectorized strength equipment.
  • The Thomas H. Bell Weight Room, located on the lower level, contains a large selection of free weight and plate-loaded strength equipment.
  • Equipment within the Fitness Center includes:
    • Most cardiovascular equipment is equipped with personal viewing screens.
    • Cardiovascular equipment includes a variety of LifeFitness, Precor, Woodway, SciFit, and Matrix brand products.  
    • Equipment types include treadmills, climbmills, upright stationary bikes, recumbent stationary bikes, rowers, elliptical cross trainers, AMT's (Adaptive Motion Trainers), an upper body ergometer, selectorized equipment, functional training stations, multi-purpose cable cross machine, plate-loaded strength equipment, stretching mats, balance balls, and various other fitness equipment.

Fitness Center & Weight Room Policies

  • Appropriate non-marking, closed toe/heel footwear is required. No dress shoes, boots, sandals, or bare feet. Sneakers are strongly recommended.
  • Appropriate athletic attire must be worn at all times.  Generally, this consists of closed-toe athletic shoes, athletic pants or shorts, and a t-shirt, sweatshirt, or tank top.  Revealing/inappropriate clothing and jeans are not permitted.
  • Members are required to wipe down equipment after use and encouraged to wipe down equipment before use. Gym wipes are available throughout the facility.  
  • Work-out towels are available at the Welcome Desk. Members are required to return used towels to the Welcome Desk before leaving the facility.
  • Persons under 16 years of age are not permitted to use the Fitness Center or Weight Room at any time.
  • To accommodate all Members during busier times, Members are asked to keep their use of cardio equipment to a maximum of 30 minutes and allow other Members to rotate-in with weight equipment.
  • Weights are not permitted to be used within one foot of any mirrors or windows.
  • Members should keep hands and feet clear of moving parts while using machines.
  • Members must return equipment to its proper place after use.
  • Members are not permitted to attempt to repair equipment.  If equipment repair is required, Members should report the issue to a ChargerREC employee. 
  • Members are required to use weight collars at all times, regardless of the weight.
  • The use of chalk is not permitted.
  • Food and beverages (other than water) are not permitted.
  • All equipment must be used in the manner for which it is designed.  Members may not attempt to modify equipment.
  • Standing on benches or equipment frames is not permitted.
  • To prevent clutter, personal belongings must be kept in a locker or cubby.  ChargerREC is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Spotters are strongly recommended on all lifts. If a spotter is needed, Members may ask a ChargerREC employee to assist.
  • Dropping weights from any height is not permitted. 
  • Propping or leaning weights on the walls, mirrors, and glass is not permitted.
  • Top-loading additional weights on top of the weight stack machines is not permitted.
  • All equipment must remain in the area it was placed.  Members may not move equipment from one location to another.
  • Due to facility space limitations and safety concerns, the following free-weight lifts are not permitted: snatch, jerk, and power clean lifts.
