Activity Courts

University of New Haven: Courts

  • 13,800 sq. ft. finished maplewood floor activity space.
  • Various configurations provide space for basketball, volleyball courts, and badminton courts.
  • Appropriate Non-Marking Footwear is required.  No Dress shoes, boots or bare feet. Shirts are required at all times.
  • Members and Guests are encouraged to store their belongings in a locker or cubby.
  • Unless otherwise specified by schedule, courts are prioritized for informal recreation in the order of basketball, volleyball, badminton, and all other activities. Individual and groups will be asked to share the space when possible and when the adjacent activities do not pose a safety risk.
  • Hockey and Lacrosse are not permitted on the hardwood courts.
  • Requests for volleyball and badminton equipment set-up will be accommodated when possible.
  • Members are not permitted to setup/remove any equipment set-up on courts. When needed, Members must ask a ChargerREC staff member to setup/remove equipment.

Multi-Activity Court (MAC)

University of New Haven: MAC Court

  • 6,000 sq. ft. multi-activity space including dasher boards, recessed soccer goals, and basketball goals.
  • Appropriate Non-Marking Footwear is required.  No Dress shoes, boots or bare feet. Shirts are required at all times.
  • Members and Guests are encouraged to store their belongings in a locker or cubby.
  • Unless otherwise specified by schedule, there is no priority for court activity. The space will be used on a first come, first serve basis. The individual or group utilizing the court first will dictate the activity at that time. Individuals and groups will be asked to share the space when possible and when the adjacent activities do not pose a safety risk. For example, a full game of roller hockey cannot accommodate another group wishing to play soccer.
  • Requests for volleyball, hockey or soccer equipment set-up will be accommodated when possible.
  • Members are not permitted to setup/remove any equipment set-up on courts. When needed, Members must ask a ChargerREC staff member to setup/remove equipment.

Indoor Track

University of New Haven: Track

  • 3 lane, 1/10 mile indoor jogging track
  • Additional cardio equipment, a heavy bag, and a speed bag are located adjacent to the track to provide additional work-out opportunities.
