Prof. Perry began his association with the University of New Haven as an adjunct in January, 2001 and joined the Education Department in July, 2006. His current responsibilities include teaching and advising graduates and undergraduates in the education and history departments, scheduling graduate courses, and placing intern candidates in school systems. In 2010, he established an international education program between the school systems of Dieppe, France; Leeds, England; and the U.S.

Dr. Perry began his career as a high school social studies teacher in Connecticut in 1969 and served as a private school headmaster in New York from 1974 to 1985. Prior to coming to the university, he was a public high school principal in two Connecticut school systems from 1985 to 2006. In 1997, Dr. Perry was selected as the U.S. representative to an international team of educators contracted by the Republic of Ukraine to advise the Ministry of Education on how to improve the quality of education in the Republic.
