The Secretary in the Education Department plays a multi-faceted and challenging role and Ellen feels that being selected to work in the Education Department at UNH has been a rewarding experience. After working in the business world in Manhattan, and relocating to Connecticut, she found a career in the field of education to be the ideal position with its many facets. Her last secretarial position in New York was with a publishing company, so joining the Education Department is a wonderful and perfect transition, as part of her responsibilities is the ordering of texts from the Bookstore for Education faculty.
Along with the typical day-to-day responsibilities, Ellen attends department meetings and takes minutes; assists potential applicants and current candidates; prepares paperwork for trimester payments to adjuncts, supervisors, student teachers, co-operating teachers along with their CEUs which are issued to the State, among many other tasks. Part of the secretary’s role is also to serve as liaison to other departments within the University including, but not limited to, the Bursar’s office, Graduate Admissions; Graduate Records; Facilities, Payroll Department, and the Campus Bookstore.
