The University of New Haven opened its satellite campus in Tuscany, Italy in the fall of 2012.
The campus, located in the historic city of Prato, provides an exceptional opportunity for UNH students to immerse themselves in the culture and language of Italy. Prato is the second largest city in the region but off the beaten path for tourists, assuring an authentic Italian cultural experience.
While in Prato, students live in and near the historic city center. Here, they find everything they need for day-to-day life. The school and housing locations are no more than a 15-minute walk apart. The train station is a five-minute walk from the school. There are many shops and restaurants in the area as well. Prato is also ideally and centrally located for exploring - just a 20-minute train ride from Florence and one hour from Pisa and the resorts of the Tuscan coast.
The course offerings at the Tuscany campus change from semester to semester. Students take a total of 15 credits (5 courses) during the semester including one mandatory Italian language course. Each semester the University sends full-time faculty to teach UNH courses alongside Italian faculty.
