Conversation Exchange

UNH Prato organizes regular language exchanges with local students who are keen to improve their English and to meet you. This is the best chance for you to improve your language skills and meet local students with the same goal. Learning is more fun when you make friends while doing it! Local students involved come from local schools or from PIN, which is the city’s branch of the University of Florence.

Interactive Language Trip to the Lazzerini Library

Italian Language instructor Professor Piero Ianniello takes students on an interactive visit to Prato's Public Library, the Biblioteca Lazzerini. Students formed groups to answer some preliminary questions about the history of the Library and its name. Then they learned how to familiarize with the Library's on-line catalogue, especially the multi-ethnic sections. Finally, they had to actually find books whose authors are "pratesi" and films with Prato as a setting. To be successful, our students had to use their Italian language skills to communicate with the Library's staff and to deepen their knowledge of Prato's literary and cinematographic culture. They also learned how to navigate the different sections of the Library and how to manage the on-line catalogue.
