Workshops

The Careers for the Common Good  workshop series focuses on giving UNH students inspiration, knowledge, and awareness of nonprofit careers and of volunteer opportunities after graduation. All students are welcome to attend our free workshops.

Our workshops will allow you to:

  • Learn about the nonprofit and public sectors.
  • Learn about viable career options in the nonprofit and public sectors.
  • Make connections with nonprofit and public service employers.
  • Discover resources when looking for socially responsible careers.

Possible Workshops:

 NONPROFIT CAREERS: INFO SESSION

This workshop is a general  info session about nonprofit jobs!! Topics can include: different sectors of nonprofits, salary information, graduate school options, and ways to get involved! 

NONPROFIT CAREERS: A PANEL DISCUSSION

This workshop allows nonprofit professionals sit on a panel to share their success stories from their fields. Panel members describe how they got to where they are and how you can do it too!

RESUME WRITING TO HIGHLIGHT COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

In partnership with the Career Development Center, this session begins with a presentation on how to showcase experiences such as volunteering, the Community Work Study program, and service-learning. The presentation also includes information on how to find jobs in the nonprofit sector specifically. A Q&A will follow the presentation. Students are encouraged to bring hard copies of their resumes and take notes throughout the session. 

POST-GRADUATE SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Current and/or alumni from Teach for America, the Peace Corps, and AmeriCorps (VISTA and NCCC) share their experiences and stories with the UNH Community. 

POST-GRADUATE SERVICE PANEL

 The post graduate service panel will show you potential service opportunities to pursue after graduation. Hear from the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps NCCC and VISTA, and Public Allies about short-term post graduate service opportunities.
