The CLR is a member of the CRLA. The CRLA (the College Reading & Learning Association) is an international institution that certifies tutor training programs. The CLR is certified at level 1 out of 3 potential levels. Each level of certification requires that the tutor undergo training, in addition to conducting 25 hours of contact time with students.
The CLR director, Debbie Malewicki, is a member of the National College Learning Center Association (NCLCA). The mission of the NCLCA is to support learning center professionals as they enhance learning at the post-secondary level.
