Ends On

Please join us on Wednesday, October 23rd, at 4:30pm in the Moulton Lounge for a brilliant presentation by Helen Rozwadowski, "The Ocean and Outer Space Frontiers of Arthur C. Clarke." In the 1950s and 1960s some writers began to draw analogies between the vastness of outer space and the depths of the ocean. In this context, works of science fiction such as those by Arthur C. Clarke, profoundly influenced how people conceptualized deep-sea exploration and imagined the future of the ocean. The infinite expanse of space led some to conclude that the resources of the ocean were similarly vast. Dr. Rozwadowski's presentation will investigate this interesting intersection of science, literature, and the imagination. *****RSVP: honors@newhaven.edu*****
