Jim Ondak has worked as a project manager, software engineer, and physicist for over 40 years, successfully leading numerous cross-functional project and development teams in software product and application development and portfolio management.
He earned PMP® certification from the Project Management Institute in 2002 and was certified as an IBM Senior Project Manager in 2005.
Some of the high-visibility projects he has worked on include the start-up of IBM’s Healthcare and Life Sciences division; the Charters of Freedom project for the National Archives, creating a digital imaging system to analyze the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence; design and development of a leading laser keratectomy system (the procedure today known as LASIK) for a successful start-up and eventual world leader in its field; and cellular telephone system performance modeling for AT&T Bell Laboratories.
Jim was also a highly rated chair instructor at the IBM Global Services Institute, where he taught new employees about IBM’s processes, methodologies, and “basically how to survive and prosper as a consultant.”
He is a currently a project manager and consultant working for IBM’s Integrated Product Development (IPD) Process Architecture, Innovation and Technology group. Earlier in his career he was employed by Cornell Aeronautical Laboratories, Perkin-Elmer Government Systems, Taunton Technologies, Dun & Bradstreet, and AT&T.
Jim holds a BS in Physics from Canisius College and is an avid tennis player and cyclist.
Judd Andres, MBA, PMP®
New London Cohort Instructor
An expert practitioner and integrator of Strategic Business Management, Project Management, and Organizational Effectiveness, Judd Andres has over 25 years of experience in project management and operations, particularly in the areas of leadership development of high performing teams and practical application of operational excellence.
Judd has consulted and contracted with many engineering, IT, and technical organizations on the establishment of a PMO organization. This includes not only building the PMO infrastructure but also the training and development of its members (specifically the Program and Project managers to increase their capacity and capabilities). Judd also acts as an executive coach to senior project managers and leaders.
Prior to his independent consulting work, Judd worked for many years as senior project manager at top pharmaceutical organizations such as Pfizer and Bristol-Meyers Squibb. His certifications include an MBA in Business Policy and Strategy from the University of New Haven, a Yellow Belt in Lean Six Sigma, AIMaster Accelerated Implementation Methodology Masters Level & Instructor Certification, and his PMP® certification from the Project Management Institute in 2005.
