Graduate Application Deadlines for International Students Seeking a Master's Degree:

The Graduate school is on a TRIMESTER system, which means there are THREE terms that students can begin most programs.

  • For the Fall term, beginning in early September each year, the deadline is April 1st
  • For the Spring term, beginning in early January each year, the deadline is October 31st.
  • For the Summer term, beginning in early April each year, the deadline is January 31st. Please note that this term will be discontinued after Summer 2015.

Important Information: Beginning academic year 2015-2016, the trimester system for graduate students will end and the University will be changing to a semester system under a unified calendar. The graduate programs will be on the same schedule as the undergraduate programs. Beginning August 2015 there will be only two semesters for all graduate programs, a Fall semester and a Spring semester. Each semester full-time graduate students will be required to take 3 courses per term (9 credit hours).

Currently many graduate programs are on a rolling admission system. A number of graduate programs at this time will be moving to a strict deadline basis for applications, specifically Computer Science, Network Systems, and Electrical Engineering, MS programs.

Applications must be complete by April 1st in order to be considered for an engineering scholarship, a TA position, or an RA position. Students who are offered an engineering scholarship, TA position, or RA position will be required to submit a $300 non-refundable deposit before an I-20 will be issued.

Computer Science Applicants: There will be a wait list instituted for Computer Science applicants.  Students will be notified that they have been placed on a waiting list by letter and by email.  During late May, any students who are going to be moved from the waiting list to fully accepted will be notified. Once they are notified that they can enter the Fall term, they must pay the $300 commitment fee, and then an I-20 will be sent.
