Explore UNH Day: Hospitality and Tourism Management

Throughout the year, the University of New Haven provides a unique on-campus visit opportunity for students interested in our Hospitality and Tourism Management programs.

During the day, you will have a chance to meet with members of our admission staff, hear from faculty and students, and learn more about some of our Hospitality and Tourism Management programs. We offer concentrations in Hotel and Resort Management, Tourism and Event Management, Foodservice Management, and Spa Management.

Exceptional Courses

Students in Hospitality and Tourism Management degree programs will take a variety of unique and innovative courses that are designed to help them succeed in their future careers. Many of these courses are even offered at local hotels and restaurants to ensure that our students capitalize on current industry trends. Some of these courses include Lodging Operations, Bar and Beverage Management, Resort Operations, Gaming and Casino Management, Catering and Event Management, Wine Appreciation, Service Management, and Resort Design and Development. Our courses also ensure that students gain the appropriate industry certifi cations such as ServSafe and SMART as UNH continues to respond to the demands of the growing tourism industry.

    The University of New Haven was the first college or university in the state of Connecticut to offer a Hotel and Restaurant Management program and continues today as a leader in experiential learning opportunities. Students in our program have participated in such unique experiences as our “Live like a Rock Star for a Week” Spring Break in Las Vegas, Nevada to experience the casino industry fi rst hand and our “Winter in the Caribbean” trip to expose students to many different aspects of the resort industry.
