Under Kevin's leadership, applications to the University of New Haven have nearly quadrupled and selectivity has dramatically increased. The quality of applicants to the University of New Haven has continued to improve year after year, and many new initiatives that were implemented by Kevin and his staff have resulted in the Univeristy of New Haven receiving nearly 15,000 applications for admission this year alone!Kevin joined the University of New Haven as an Assistant Director of Admissions in 2000 and was appointed to the position of Director of Undergraduate Admissions in 2007. In 2009, Kevin then became the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, a position he continues in to this day.
Featured annually in US News and World Report’s Best Colleges and the Princeton Review's Best Colleges, the University of New Haven is considered a top-tier, highly sought after institution – gaining both regional, national, and international accreditation. This year's incoming freshmen class of 1,237 students has matched the highest average GPA and test scores in the history of the University, marks that were set just one year ago!
In addition, Kevin has overseen an expansion of enrollment efforts that encompass
our Transfer Enrollment Division, our Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, and our Part-Time
Enrollment area. Transfer enrollments have increased by 50% this year, while Lyme
Academy and Part-Time student enrollment is up well over 100% in the past two years.
As an undergraduate student, Kevin attended both a small private university and a large state university, earning degrees in History and Business Administration. While pursuing his undergraduate education, Kevin played basketball, competing at the Division II level and eventually coached basketball at both the high school and college level for several years.
Kevin’s admissions experience includes leadership positions at three separate private universities in Southern New England. He started his career in higher education as an Admissions Counselor at Sacred Heart University in 1994. Prior to his most recent roles at the University of New Haven, he has served as an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions, Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions, and Director of Events.
During Kevin’s tenure, the University of New Haven staff has expanded campus visit opportunities to include more personalized and in-depth information. Enhanced Visits for students interested in fields such as engineering, communication, business, visual and performing arts, forensic science, marine biology, and many more have been added since 2007. Additionally, Charger Days for students who want to experience a day in the life of a current student here at the University of New Haven, have become extremely popular with over 800 students participating this past year. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is also now open seven days during a majority of the calendar year.
