Michael Gianoni headshotMichael Gianoni is president and CEO of Blackbaud Inc., a leading technology company that powers the business of philanthropy for its more than 30,000 nonprofit customers around the world. An experienced executive and respected senior leader, he has a successful track record of strong operating management of IT businesses that deliver sustainable value for customers, shareholders and employees.

Gianoni joined Blackbaud from Fiserv, a global provider of financial services technology solutions, where he was executive vice president and group president of the Financial Institutions Group. Previously, he was president of Fiserv’s Investment Services division, executive vice president and general manager of CheckFree Investment Services and the leader of numerous divisions at DST Systems Inc., where he focused on developing new platforms and ensuring stronger operational controls.

While pursuing his EMBA at UNH, he was an account executive at Wang Laboratories, where he made the “President’s Club,” a recognition of sales excellence, each of his five years with the company, and he was one of 35 employees named to Wang’s “fast track” program.

Gianoni’s interest in technology was sparked in high school when he took his first engineering class. He went on to receive his associate degree in electrical engineering at Waterbury State Technical College. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Charter Oak State College and holds an Executive MBA from the University of New Haven.

A first-generation American, Gianoni has a passion for veterans’ services and programs, animal welfare (especially dogs) and exploring the U.S. coastline either by sailboat or motorcycle. Gianoni is a former member of the Board of Directors for Liberty Health System in New Jersey and the American Red Cross’s Southeast Massachusetts chapter.
