About Alison

Alison Winter-Lai, M.S. RD CSO CDN, is an adjunct faculty for Nutrition Care Process I and II at the University of New Haven. A New York native, Alison completed her undergraduate degree at James Madison University in VA, her internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and her M.S. degree at the University of New Haven. Alison started her career at YNHH as a staff relief dietitian, then moved on to specialize in the treatment and care of oncology patients as an inpatient clinical dietitian. Alison became one of the first board certified specialists in oncology in the country and published a chapter, "Medical Nutrition Therapy in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation"  in the handbook for clinicians, "Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation".

Alison has outpatient clinical experience from her role as the RD in the hospital’s chemotherapy infusion center. For the past five years she has been in a management position as the clinical nutrition coordinator at YNHH. Alison has taught at the University of New Haven since 2007. She enjoys cooking and gardening, as well as teaching dietetic students and interns.
