About Leonardo

Leonardo Borsacchi’s research focuses on integrated management systems, with special emphasis on quality, hygiene, and environmental and social responsibility. He is an expert of process and product certifications, especially food and textile supply chains. He is an Adjunct Faculty in Sustainability of Supply Chains in the School of Economics and Management at the University of Florence and an Adjunct Faculty in Cultural Food at the University of New Haven. He holds a Ph.D. in Commodity Science from the University of Bari. He is also expert in the field of circular economy and urban regeneration.

From 2003 to 2013 he worked as a researcher in the Quality of Goods and Reliability of Products lab at PIN – the campus of University of Florence based in Prato. Since 2013 he has been doing applied research at the ARCO (Action Research for CO-development) lab of PIN. Since 2016 he has coordinated ARCO’s Strategic Unity of Sustainable Food Commodities.
