About Ranjana

Ranjana Maitra '91 MBA is an accomplished international executive with decades of experience working in the healthcare and life sciences industries. After an illustrious corporate career, she is now an influential international education leader, focusing on connecting cultures and students. Her passion is guiding bright, young, talented minds to pursue and leverage higher education at the University of New Haven, a leading global university, where they can pursue their goals of realizing long-term personal and professional success.

She serves as Country Head-International, overseeing the University's international undergraduate and graduate recruitment efforts and branding. She is based in Mumbai, India.

Prior to joining the University in 2019, she was the general manager and global head of life sciences, digital operations, and platforms unit for Wipro Limited, a global leader in consulting, technology, and business-process services, with more than 170,000 employees. During her 16-year tenure at Wipro Limited, she demonstrated a history of objectively defining and delivering business targets and meeting expectations by engaging with clients – including eight of the top 10 global medical device companies, four top global pharmaceutical companies, and Fortune 50 payers, among others across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

She has the distinction of setting up business units and global centers of delivery excellence across 12 delivery centers around the world, as well as turning around acquired businesses while integrating them and enabling them to deliver value and growth. Previously, she was the chief operating officer for Wipro Healthcare IT, a subsidiary of Wipro Ltd.

She also spent more than a decade in leadership roles at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the second largest Indian company by market capitalization and one of the strongest IT services brands globally. She joined the firm after earning her MBA, with a concentration in marketing, from the University of New Haven.

Ranjana is also closely associated with CII (Confederation of Indian Industry), a 125-year-old body, and she was the co-chairperson for CII’s Indian Women Network’s Western Region for 2022-2023 and was previously the chairperson for CII’s Indian Women Network for Maharashtra, India. She is also part of CII’s Western Region Taskforce on Education and on the taskforce for Women Empowerment for CII’s Indian Women Network’s National Committee.
