About

I am originally from southeastern Pennsylvania (Bucks County) and relocated to New Haven to study Music & Sound Recording (UNH BA ’93). Early in my tenure as a student I was fortunate to take on a position as an assistant engineer at a local studio that developed into the opportunity to build a world class recording facility during my senior year.

I am appreciative that my music industry career over the past 20+ years stems from serving as an engineer or assistant for legendary producers and top industry engineer/producers including: Nile Rodgers, Pip Williams, Danny Kortchmar, Paul Leka, Elliot Scheiner, Kevin Shirley, Niko Bolas, and Gary Tole. I have also had the honor to work for Disney, Sony BMG, GRP, Arista, Mercury, and NFL Films, just to name a few.

In 2005 I was approached by UNH to join the University as a Professional in Residence and to teach modern music technology as well as advanced recording classes. Since then I have been promoted to Lecturer and have taken on the role as Recording Studio Manager to manage all of the music department’s recording facilities and computer lab.

On a more personable side, I am an avid hockey fan and play a few times per week as a goaltender and defensemen. I enjoy performing upgrades to my home, particularly woodworking, electrical, and home networking. I absolutely love music and play drums, percussion, bass, sing, and still a little bit of clarinet. I listen to most genres but lean towards jazz, classical, progressive rock, classic rock, metal core, alt. metal, alternative, etc.

Statement

I take great pride in the success of my students. Success in the music industry may be achieved by the extreme motivation of those who want to learn above the normal standards, but also by the professionals who are willing to share their expertise on how they conquered the challenges that led them to success. Together they equal the future of the music industry.
