Hartford Courant, February 21, 2012: Family owned Guida's Milk has sold itself to a national co-operative of dairy farmers based in Kansas City, but will still buy more than 75 percent of its raw milk from Connecticut farmers and can offer identity for the state. Paul Sessions, director of the Center for Family Business at UNH, comments "They're going to have to back away from the family-owned business piece of it, but they are buying and selling locally, and that may count for something. ... If they play it right, if they emphasize the local sourcing, it could still work for them."
