New Haven Register (Mar. 8): “New Haven Detectives Go To School, Train in Simulated-Crime Situations"
New Haven's newly minted detectives will hit the ground running after taking a seven-day course at UNH during which they learned from some of the best in the field. “By doing it early they get a jump on it versus just learning it from experience,” said Peter Massey, a lecturer at UNH who ran the crime scene portion of the program. The new method for detectives could be referred to as moving them “from shoe leather to booting up,” said Richard Ward, UNH professor and vice president for Special Programs Sponsored Research. The new class also learned from lecturers such as renowned forensic scientist Henry Lee.
