Former Connecticut congressman Christopher Shays, now a Fellow in Public Service at the University of New Haven, warns that unilateral action by the U.S. against Syria would be a “serious mistake with long-term consequences.” He notes, “The Syrian government crossed the red line in the use of chemical weapons for which the world community needs to respond, not just the United States.”
