WEST HAVEN, CONN. -- The Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science at the University of New Haven will dedicate a crime scene lab in honor of Ronald Shaw, the retired president and chief executive of Pilot Pen Corp of America, and his wife.

Shaw, a former member of the UNH Board of Governors and a recipient of a UNH honorary degree in 2007, was responsible for significant growth at Pilot Pen during his tenure and the company’s sponsorship of the Pilot Pen tennis tournament in New Haven. He is also the author of a motivational book “Pilot Your Life.”

The laboratory will be known as the “The Ronald and Phyllis Shaw Crime Scene Prep Laboratory” and will be dedicated on Oct. 3, at 4 PM.  The Lee Institute, home to some of the most sophisticated forensics and crime scene technology in the world, moved to a new state-of-the-art $11.5 million building on the UNH campus in December, 2010. Lee, the institute's founder, has been a member of the UNH faculty since 1975.
