On Tuesday, August 14, the 16 students who are taking part in the President’s Public Service Fellowship program will share their experiences spending the summer volunteering at nonprofit and government agencies in West Haven and New Haven. The presentations will begin at 9 a.m. in Room 301 of the Henry Lee Institute.
It is the 14th year that UNH is sponsoring the program that is designed to help students develop leadership skills and an awareness of the needs of the community, as well as foster positive relationships within the Greater New Haven area. To be selected for a fellowship, students take part in an interview process and are awarded placements based on their interests and backgrounds. This year’s participants were selected from a record 46 applicants.
