Philanthropy News Digest: Announcing the 2019 Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy Recipients

Leonard Tow ’16 Hon., founder and chairman of the Tow Foundation, a charitable organization that supports work in the areas of justice reform, medical research, higher education, and cultural institutions, was named as part of the 10th class of Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy recipients. A 2014 gift from the Tow Foundation funded the creation of the University of New Haven’s Tow Institute for Youth Justice dedicated to juvenile-justice reform, the first of its kind in Connecticut.
