Choose Your Meal Plan

Eat Well, Chargers!

The University of New Haven offers a variety of dining options on campus, from traditional college dining hall-style to order-on-demand sit-down, take-out ... and more! All students are eligible to purchase a meal plan, but students living in University-sponsored housing are required to choose a meal plan. Check out the options below based on your class year.

Our First-Year Meal Plan Options: Charger Unlimited Blue vs. Charger Unlimited Gold

Incoming first-year students (including freshman transfer students) who live in University-sponsored housing are given a choice of two meal plans. After receiving your housing assignment, you can choose between the two meal plan options in MyHousing. To help you make the choice, a brief description of each is below:

Charger Unlimited Gold provides unlimited access to board meals, plus $525 Dining Dollars. This plan will allow you to swipe your card 14 times per week for breakfast and dinner Monday through Friday, and brunch and dinner on the weekends, at either The Marketplace (Bartels Hall) or FöD (Westside Hall). Lunch, at any location on campus, is a la carte and you will be charged an a la carte rate.

Charger Unlimited Blue provides unlimited access to board meals, plus $200 dining dollars. This plan will allow you to swipe your card 19 times per week for breakfast (at Marketplace or FöD), lunch (at FöD ONLY) and dinner (at Marketplace or FöD) Monday through Friday, and brunch and dinner on the weekends at FöD (Westside Hall) or The Marketplace (Bartels Hall). Lunch at The Marketplace is a la carte and you will be charged an a la carte rate.

Still confused about which plan to choose? Talk to classmates and staff members in our Class of 2019 Facebook group before making your selection. Pick the wrong one?!? There is no wrong choice, but don't stress it - they cost the same amount, and at the start of each semester, there will be a two-week open enrollment period where you can try out the plans and make a change if you want to.

Meal Plan Options for Upperclass Transfer Students

Incoming transfer students who will be living in an upperclassman residence hall / University-sponsored housing can choose any meal plan. Visit dining.newhaven.edu to check out all of the meal plan options available.

Can Commuter Students Have a Meal Plan?

Of course you can! Visit dining.newhaven.edu to check out all of the meal plan options available.

Deadline is August 7

DEADLINE: Select a meal plan after you receive your room assignment, but before August 7.
