Alternative Spring Break

Alternative Spring Break

The Alternative Spring Break program is a great opportunity for students to volunteer during their spring break and to give back to the surrounding community. Students spend the week working in teams to complete services at various New Haven and West Haven locations. The program is a wonderful way for students to meet other people, develop their leadership and teambuilding skills, and to volunteer their time and talents while benefiting great causes.

This year, there was a total of 19 participants:

  • 2 students volunteered with New Haven Reads
  • 7 students worked with Habitat for Humanity and Connecticut Food Bank
  • 3 students worked with the New Haven Home Recovery
  • 2 students volunteered at Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS)
  • 3 students worked with the Connecticut Children's Museum
  • 2 students volunteered at the West Haven Community House

Applications for this program are available at the end of each fall semester through the Office of Community Service Office.
