My fellow Chargers,
First, I would like to welcome the new graduate students to UNH and the returning students back to campus. My name is Richard Rotella, and I am your Graduate Student Council (GSC) President. GSC is a student run governing body, which allows you the opportunity to voice concerns regarding the University as well as plans professional and social events throughout the semester. As a graduate student, you are automatically a member of GSC. That being said, I encourage you to attend our meetings which occur every other Wednesday in the Alumni Lounge (located in Bartels Campus Center) at 5:00 PM. Our first meeting is January 25th at 5:00 PM in the Alumni Lounge, so make sure you stop by and grab a bite to eat and learn more about GSC.
The Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) on campus consist of clubs and organizations such as special interest, professional, cultural, and even religious organizations.
To find out more information about the many events occurring on around campus and general GSC information, feel free to like our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/GSCUNH), look on Charger Connection, or look for our weekly e-mails!
Whether it is through GSC or any RSO, getting involved will make your time at the University much more enjoyable and rewarding.
Please feel free to stop and say hello if you see me around campus. You can also contact me via e-mail at GSCPresident@newhaven.edu. I wish you the best of luck this year at the University of New Haven, and the new experiences you will encounter as a graduate student.
Richard J. Rotella
Graduate Student Council President
