About the Office

The Office of Intercultural Relations assists the University in promoting cultural diversity, awareness, and sensitivity throughout the campus community. Its programs, services and activities promote cultural identity and understanding within a multicultural environment.

Meet the Staff

The Director of Intercultural Relations is responsible for the daily operations of the Office of Intercultural Relations and supervising the undergraduate student employees. She is also responsible for promoting cultural awareness and appreciation of diversity through the coordination of campus-wide educational and social programs celebrating the campus's diversity. Other responsibilities include advising the Office's Diversity Resource Center; serving as a resource, advocate and principal advisor on diversity issues to the campus community and specifically to underrepresented student; and collaborating with various University offices and departments to promote the recruitment and retention of underrepresented students.

Wanda Tyler has been the Director of Intercultural Relations since July 2006 when she joined the UNH community. She graduated in 1996 from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology; she earned her Master's degree in Counseling - Student Personnel Services in 1998 from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

Get Involved

Students can get involved in the work of the Office of Intercultural Relations as a Diversity Peer Educator or as a student employee! Contact the Director for more information on these opportunities!
S.U.N. Program

Mission: The SUN Program has been created to assist in building relationships between student organizations. We ask that all requests reflect a collaboration or partnership between at least two organizations that do not currently have a long-standing history of collaborating with one another. Student groups are also encouraged to co-sponsor with Academic Affairs and Student Affairs departments.

Vision: The SUN Program empowers UNH student leaders to create and maintain an inclusive campus environment where cultural similarities are explored and differences are embraced.
