The application process begins in mid-January and concludes with position offerings the third week of February. The application process consists of a mandatory RA information session, paper application, resume, two letters of reference, and a group process interview for all applicants. Only candidates who meet the requirements of the position and have submitted a completed application will be invited to participate in group process day. Please be sure to closely follow the timeline for submission of all applications materials. Late or incomplete applications will automatically disqualify your candidacy for this position.
Applications will be reviewed after group process day. After reviewing the applications and information gathered from group process day, candidates will be notified via e-mail regarding their status in the selection process.
Applicants that are chosen to move forward after group process day will be invited to participate in an individual interview. Candidates selected for individual interviews will need to come into the Office of Residential Life in Bixler Hall on Tuesday, February 12th to schedule an individual interview. the interview times will be decided on a first-come first-served basis. Interviews will take place Wednesday, February 13th, 2013 through Saturday, February 16th, 2013.

After the individual interviews, candidate applications will be reviewed one final time and offer letters notifying each applicant of their status as Resident Assistant candidate will be sent out via e-mail by Wednesday, February 20th, 2013.
Please remember that the position of Resident Assistant holds a tremendous amount of responsibility. All facets of the interview process will be evaluated for your employability and suitability for this position.

Online Application- The online application is for students who are interested in being either a Resident Assistant or a Living Learning Community Resident Assistant for the 2013-2014 academic year. This online application will give you the opportunity to choose which position you would like to apply for. The application asks you to provide general information about yourself and your experience in leadership positions. It also consists of 5 short answer essay questions that will help us understand your commitment to this position and the qualities you would bring to an RA staff. Online Application Notes:
- Submitting your Application – Make sure that you complete all parts of the online application before submission. Your application will not be complete until you click the submit button at the bottom of the page.
- Session Timeouts – If you leave your application idle too long, it may timeout. Any information you have entered may be lost. It is recommended that you compose your answers in a separate word processing program and paste them into the application when you're ready to submit.
- Problems – If you are having any issues with the online application, please contact the Office of Residential Life.
Letters of Recommendation – A complete application must include two letters of recommendations. Please distribute the following recommendation form to your references and have them submit that form with their letter (recommendation form can be found here). You should read and complete the top portion of the form prior to distribution. If you do not complete the top portion of the reference, it will be considered incomplete. Please note that one of your references should be a UNH-affiliated faculty or staff member. The other reference should be someone who knows you in a supervisory or advisory role. Parents and close family members may NOT serve as references for this application.
All letters of recommendation and forms must be returned to the Office of Residential Life by February 7th, 2013 @ NOON. If your letters of recommendation are not received by this deadline, your application will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed.
Resume - You will need to provide a paper copy of your current resume with your application. Your resume should include at least your last two employers (if applicable) and what kind of work you have done in the past. Please also list any community service, volunteering, student involvement or special achievements you have received.
