Pre-Law LLC

Pre Law LLC logoA common interest in law and justice is the foundation for the interdisciplinary Pre-Law LLC.  Developed collaboratively by Legal Studies in the H.C. Lee College and Political Science in the College of Arts & Sciences, with input from the Criminal Justice Department, the Pre-Law LLC welcomes students from any major at UNH interested in going to law school after graduation to join our community of justice scholars.

While developing a supportive and cohesive community around social events and a common interest in law and justice, the Pre-Law LLC will also focus on pre-law preparation.  Although law school may seem far away, strong preparation beginning when students enter UNH will enhance choices and opportunities after graduation.  In particular, advanced preparation in reading, writing, and analytic thinking skills, tutoring, interaction with faculty, attorneys and judges, and excursions to courts and law-related locations and events will  significantly enhance students’ academic experience and jump-start students’ preparation for success in law school.  Focused pre-law advising, in coordination with the university and respective college pre-law advisers and Career Services, will also help students integrate pre-law preparation with their academic majors.  The interactions within the group, with upper class RAs, and with faculty and speakers from the legal field will all facilitate students transition to the University as well as improve their chances for personal and academic development and success.

What Does an LLC Advisor Do?

The LLC Advisor serves as a mentor to the residents. The advisor works closely with the Resident Assistant to plan events and trips centered around the theme of the LLC. Advisors hold office hours inside the residence hall so they can work closely with their students.
