The Iota Mu Chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma was founded at the University of New Haven on April 28, 2007 by 26 women who believed that anything could be achieved through hard work and dedication. Originally founded in 1913, Phi Sigma Sigma believes in inclusiveness, leadership through service, and lifelong learning. The Iota Mu Chapter has seen great success in the two years that they have been on the University of New Haven campus. They raise money for the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation, their International philanthropy and a main sponsor of the National Kidney Foundation, by holding their annual Rock-A-Thon. They also hold fundraisers throughout the year to raise money for their local philanthropy, the American Red Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" Campaign. Each and every member contributes not only to her chapter, but also to the University by standing by their open motto, "Aim High."
