Director of Student Activities

The Director of Student Activities is responsible for the day to day operations of the Office of Student Activities and supervising the graduate assistants and student employees.  The Director is also responsible for initiating and coordinating campus wide programs, providing event planning assistance, and serving a resource for all UNH clubs and organizations.  In addition, the Director  advises the Undergraduate Student Government Association, Inter Fraternity-Sorority Council (IFSC), Chariot Yearbook and Charger Bulletin (campus newspaper). The Director also plays a vital role in the SOAR program (orientation) both in facilitating the program and with hiring and supervising the Orientation Leaders.

Greg Overend has been the Director of Student Activities since August of 2003 when he joined the UNH community. He graduated in 1993 from Eastern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics and in 1996 graduated from Rider University with his Master's degree in Human Services Administration.   

Ladarius Thompson

LaDarius Thompson
Associate Director of Student Activities  

Ladarius is responsible for overseeing UNH's Event Management Process and coordinating and providing resources for Registered Student Organizations and their advisors. The Associate Director manages the Bartels Building Managers and Event Staff. In addition, The Associate Director assists in the implementation of the SOAR program (orientation).

LaDarius joined the Office of Student Activities in the Spring of 2015.  LaDarius graduated from University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, SC with a Bachelor of Arts in Nonprofit Administration in 2010. In 2012, LaDarius received his Masters of Science in Counseling from Pace University. During his time at Pace, LaDarius served as a Residence Director and Orientation Coordinator. After receiving his Masters degree, LaDarius worked professionally in Delaware and South Carolina.

University of New Haven - Shelissa Newball

Assistant Director of Student Activities 

The Assistant Director of Student Activities is responsible for overseeing UNH's Greek Life community and coordinating the LEAD and LEGOs leadership programs. In addition, the Assistant Director manages the info desk student workers and assists in the implementation of the SOAR program (orientation).

Shelissa attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT where she received her Bachelor’s in African American Studies. In 2008 she received her Masters degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut.  

Colleen Kerrigan


Colleen Kerrigan
Coordinator of Student Activities 

Colleen joined the Office of Student Activities in Spring 2014 as the Coordinator of Student Activities.  Colleen is an alumnae of the University of New Haven where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Science and Chemistry in 2011.  She will receive her Master of Science degree in 2014 in Counseling with a specialization in Student Development and Higher Education from Central Connecticut State University. 

Melinda Hill

Melinda Hill
Office Coordinator

The Office Coordinator is responsible for managing  vendor contracts, check requests, Charger Connection, the Student Activities webpage, registration processes for events, supporting the SOAR program, key distributions for club and organization facilities as well as work orders. The Office Coordinator also manages the Game Room and Work Study staff.

Melinda joined the Office of Student Activities in the Fall of 2014. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 2010 and completed her Master of Science in Counseling and College Student Personnel at the University of Bridgeport in 2014.
