The Orientation staff is busy planning the Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration program (SOAR) to welcome you to our campus community. SOAR is a time for new students to begin their college experience, meet new classmates and upperclassmen, and learn more about academic and student life at the University of New Haven.
Dear New Student,
Congratulations on choosing the University of New Haven! On behalf of the Orientation Staff, we would like to welcome you to our community.
Before you start your amazing journey at the University of New Haven, you will be going through a two-day overnight summer orientation program known as Student Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR).
SOAR is a mandatory, overnight orientation program where you will meet fellow classmates, familiarize yourself with University programs and services, and receive an overview of academic and student life. One of the perks of attending this program is that you will be given your Fall 2017 class schedule.
It is our job as the 2017 Orientation Co-Chairs to make sure you have a wonderful orientation experience. To help make this possible, we have a staff of Orientation Leaders (OL’s). OL’s are current students who have enjoyed their experiences at the University, represent our diverse campus community, and are excited to show you all the great things the University has to offer. As an incoming student, you will be assigned an Orientation Leader who will help make your transition to the University as easy and as fun as possible.
Incoming first-year students create new and lasting friendships at SOAR and really enjoy their experience! The programs offered at SOAR are essential to a smooth transition and are a great jumpstart to your college experience. We are excited to welcome you to our family, and we look forward to meeting you this summer. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you this summer at SOAR!
