Required Prevention Courses
The choices you make will have an impact not only on you, but also on the University of New Haven community. We are committed to helping you make positive choices, which will serve as a critical foundation for your future success.
We know you are excited about coming to the University of New Haven. To help create a safe environment for you and other students, all incoming students are required to complete online education courses designed to educate you on choices you will make while at the University.
We believe you will enjoy the assignments. Through these interactive, online courses, you will examine the interconnected issues of hooking up, substance abuse, sexual violence, and healthy relationships through a variety of interactive, realistic scenarios and guided self-reflection. The courses promotes a healthier and safer campus environment for everyone.
"Alcoholedu" takes 60-90 minutes to complete, and "Sexual Assault Education takes 45-60 minutes. There will be a follow up assignment sent out 30 days after the initial course is completed. You will receive additional prompts later in the semester to complete part 2 of each course. You can work at your own pace from any computer (Mobile Phones will not work). You can leave and return to the course at any time, and when you return, it will open to the page where you left off.
Failure to complete the courses will result in a hold on your University account, preventing future registrations.
