About Jordan

Jordan Schweidenback is a lecturer of Healthcare Administration in the Department of Population Health and Leadership at the School of Health Sciences at the University of New Haven. As a current doctoral candidate, he is particularly interested in healthcare leadership, organizational theory, and organizational behavior, specifically focusing on implementing healthcare innovation.

Jordan has had a diverse career in healthcare management and clinical roles. He earned a master’s in healthcare administration at the University of New Haven and later secured an Administrative Fellowship with Bristol Health's Medical Group. He successfully led and managed several strategic, business development, and financial sustainability projects in this role. These projects included the development of a 5,000-square-foot primary care practice and a system-wide same-day surgery project designed to integrate and sustain financial services while reducing unreimbursed surgical care. While at Bristol Health, Jordan obtained a lean six sigma green belt certification.

Jordan was the perioperative business manager at Yale New Haven Health's Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, Westerly Hospital, and Pequot Surgery Center. He successfully led several strategic business development and capital project initiatives during his tenure, such as implementing a second robotic surgical system to establish the Robotic Surgery Program and renovating the Sterile Processing Department.

Jordan has clinical training in radiology from Lifespan's Rhode Island Hospital. He holds a bachelor's degree in diagnostic imaging from Rhode Island College, with a concentration in nuclear medicine. Jordan has worked in several hospitals and health organizations, including Steward Healthcare's St. Anne's Hospital, Hartford Healthcare's Hartford Hospital, and Trinity Health of New England's St. Mary's Hospital, where he specialized in nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography, and computed tomography. Additionally, he served as the interim nuclear medicine manager for Steward Healthcare’s St. Anne’s Hospital.

Jordan is pursuing his doctorate in the Doctor of Health Science (DHSc) program at the University of New Haven. He has been recognized with the Academic Excellence Award in Educational Leadership. He has been featured in The Charger Blog and Hartford Healthcare’s Moments. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Amity Club of New Haven. Jordan is deeply committed to giving back to the profession and community by promoting charitable, intellectual, and civic pursuits. Combining his diverse healthcare experience with his academic achievements, he aims to contribute towards an innovative future.

During his free time, Jordan likes to stay active by exercising, hiking, snowboarding, and sailing with his wife and two dogs, Lily and Phil. He also enjoys playing piano or reading alongside his cat Walter.
