As I tell my story today, I am deeply moved to share a part of my journey that is deeply personal and profoundly meaningful to me. Coming from Nepal, a country rich in history, culture, and tradition, I am the first in my family to pursue higher education abroad.

This journey has been a testament to the unwavering support and sacrifices of my family back home, who have encouraged me to pursue my dreams with courage and determination. I am profoundly grateful to both my family and friends in Nepal, as well as those who have become my second family here in Connecticut, enriching my journey with their support. To represent the remarkable diversity and talent within our graduating class fills me with immense pride, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share a few reflections with you today.

Firstly, I want to express my heartfelt congratulations to each and every one of you. This journey, marked by hard work, dedication, and perseverance, has led us to this pivotal moment. We have overcome obstacles, embraced challenges, and emerged stronger and more resilient than ever before. Today, we stand on the threshold of endless possibilities, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and determination to shape our destinies and make a positive impact on the world.

'The power of technology and innovation'

As I reflect on my time at the University of New Haven, I am reminded of the invaluable lessons learned both inside and outside the classroom. It is here that I discovered my passion for data science. Through my involvement in the Data Science & AI Club and the Nepalese Student Association, I found a sense of belonging and community that enriched my academic experience and broadened my horizons. Whether serving as chief data scientist or data analyst, I have had the privilege of leveraging data-driven insights to drive innovation and inform decision-making in enhancing the graduate admissions processes.

As we embark on the next chapter of our lives, we must embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead with courage and conviction. Our diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives are our greatest assets, enabling us to navigate an ever-changing world with resilience and empathy. Let us harness the power of technology and innovation to address pressing global issues, from healthcare and education to climate change and social inequality.

'The best is yet to come'

Personally, I have already begun my journey into the professional realm as an employee at Cotiviti in the healthcare domain, I've had the privilege to apply the knowledge and skills gained through my academic endeavors. I am proud to say that my experiences at the University of New Haven have prepared me well for the demands of the industry, empowering me to navigate challenges with confidence and creativity.

In closing, I urge each of you to embrace the journey ahead with optimism, curiosity, and a relentless commitment to excellence. Let us honor the sacrifices of those who have supported us along the way, from family and friends to faculty and staff, by striving to make a difference in the lives of others. As we bid farewell to the University of New Haven, let us carry forth the lessons learned and the friendships forged, knowing that the best is yet to come.

Congratulations, Class of 2024. May your dreams be boundless, your adventures endless, and your impact everlasting.

Thank you.
