Registration for Family Day 2023 will open at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, and will remain open until Thursday, October 5 at 11:59 p.m., or until capacity is reached. You may purchase tickets and view more information through Eventbrite.

Arrival and Parking

Available Family Day parking lots and shuttle stops are shown on our Interactive Parking Map for Family Day 2023.

When arriving for Family Day, please go directly to one of the following parking lots:

  • P9 - Pruden Street
  • P19 - Bergami Hall West Lot
  • P24 - Wade Street Lot
  • P35 – Charger Plaza Lot
  • P37 – Alling Street Lot (University Student Hall) – Shuttle Available Here (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
  • P45 – Hoffman Street – Shuttle Available Here (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
  • P51 - Railroad Salvage Lot – Shuttle Available Here (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)

After parking, please proceed to the Beckerman Recreation Center for Family Day check-in. If you are unfamiliar with campus, you can click "Wayfinding" on the interactive map to enter your location and see walking directions to the Beckerman Center. There will also be employees stationed around campus to help provide directions.

Shuttles will be provided from the Railroad Salvage, Alling Street, and Hoffman Street lots only, looping to the Peterson Library Shuttle Stop. The Railroad Salvage and Alling Street shuttles start at 9 a.m., while the Hoffman Street shuttle starts at 10 a.m.; all run until 5 p.m.

In preparation for the day’s festivities, we have been monitoring the weather as we get closer. To ensure our families are best able to enjoy the day, some events have been reimagined or relocated to make the day weather safe for all!

Check in for the day to receive your Family Day items including meal vouchers, football tickets and activity bracelets. While enjoying continental breakfast, families may visit our campus partner representatives from different Student Affairs offices including:
  • Office of Residential Life
  • Accessibility Resource Center
  • Counseling and Psychological Services
  • Career Development Center
  • Dining Services
Beckerman Recreation Center
10:30 a.m. President Meet & Greet and Welcome
Join fellow Charger families to hear a special welcome from the Interim President Dr. Sheahon Zenger. Coffee, tea and light refreshments will be provided. The first 300 family members who attend will receive a special gift.

Have questions? Stop by the welcome table in the Beckerman Center to learn more about what’s taking place across campus.

Enjoy some friendly competition with classic boards games, giant team game classics and refreshments with our Student Committee of Programming Events (SCOPE)!

Join the University of New Haven Marching Band as they charge to DellaCamera Stadium to cheer on the football team!

Enjoy a tour of the Shaub Makerspace in Room 101 of the Bergami Center for Science, Technology, and Innovation. Take a look into where students bring their ideas to life with 3D Printers, Laser cutters, embroidery machines, and much more!

Join us (but not quite "under the sea"!) for an outdoor showing of The Little Mermaid on the big screen!
We encourage you to bring a blanket, towel or portable chair for you and your family. Singing is highly encouraged!
