About Hafiz

Hafiz Oyediran joins the Department of Civil and Environmetal Engineering as a Lecturer starting Fall 2024. Hafiz has a background in Construction Automation and Robotics. Prior to his academic career, he worked in numerous roles as a structural engineer in training, site supervisor, and project manager. He holds an MSc in Construction Management and a BSc in Building from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and an associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Lagos State Polytechnic, Lagos, Nigeria. He is also a co-founder and director of the "BIM Africa Initiative", an NGO for the advocacy of BIM adoption in Africa. The organization is known for BIM advocacy and adoption in Africa.

His current research areas of interest include:

  • Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality Application in Construction
