About Matt

Known on the air as Matt Scott, he is a meteorologist for the FOX61 Morning News, and brings over 25 years of broadcasting experience to the "Weather Watch" team.

Originally from New York City, Matt attended the University of Maryland and Mississippi State University. In addition to his work in Connecticut, Matt has worked in West Virginia, Mississippi, Charlotte and Boston. Matt writes, produces and hosts TV specials with topics ranging from entertainment to weather. He has written daily newspaper columns, and anchored news on radio. He has been nominated for Emmy Awards multiple times.

When he’s not teaching or on the air, Matt’s online. He has won awards from the New Haven Advocate, the Hartford Advocate and New Haven Living magazine for his social media efforts.

But Matt considers his two biggest accomplishments his two children. When he has a little spare time and is not sleeping (he wakes up for work at 3:30AM) Matt loves to cook, read, and play a little poker. He would probably be a better chef, a smarter poker player and a more accomplished reader if he could pry himself away from Facebook once in a while.
