About Rachel

At a young age I became extremely interested in exploring what makes people who they are. Are we simply a product of our brain activity, or is there more to our individual experiences? Who decides what is "normal?" How much does culture influence our personalities? My search for answers naturally generated more questions, and I found myself knee-deep in the field of clinical psychology. In my work, I have provided psychotherapy to adults struggling with addiction, combat veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, individuals with chronic mental illness, and college students. These experiences have greatly informed my teaching, and I carry them with me into the classroom. I invite students to generate their own questions about human psychology, and I offer the opportunity to grapple with the answers together.
