About Victoria

Victoria is a practitioner in residence in the Department of Art and Design’s Interior Design program. She has been working in the fields of architecture and interior design since 2005. Her general focus has been in the residential and hospitality design sectors. Her project experience has been predominantly in New York City and Connecticut; however, she has also worked as a contract employee for the Burning Man Project on large-scale property master planning and adaptive reuse projects in Nevada. In 2021, she started her own design business, Victoria Hunt Design, while obtaining her M.Arch. at the University of Hartford where she graduated top of her class. When she is not teaching at the University of New Haven, she is running her design business from her home that she happily shares with her son, Ash, and her dog, Midnight.

Victoria believes that great design is attained by being diligent about research, development, and by asking many questions. Her approach to design is based on thorough investigation of a problem and keeping the well-being of the planet at the forefront of one’s decision-making throughout each phase of the design process.
