Alpha Lambda Delta encourages superior academic achievement among students after their first year in institutions of higher education, promotes intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and assists students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their roles in society.
The Alpha Tau Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society for both graduate and undergraduate students, recognizes and promotes academic excellence. The full range of students in the discipline is represented — from criminal justice and forensic science to pre-law and the related social sciences.
The international honor society in accounting and finance, Beta Alpha Psi, was founded in 1919 and has more than 300 chapters on college and university campuses. More than 300,000 members have been initiated since Beta Alpha Psi’s formation. The Society is available exclusively to AACSB-accredited business schools, such as the University of New Haven’s College of Business.
Chi Alpha Sigma was established to recognize student-athletes who earn a varsity letter in at least one sport while maintaining a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA throughout their junior and senior years.
Pi Alpha Alpha® is the global honor society for public affairs and public administration scholars. The purpose of Pi Alpha Alpha is to encourage and recognize outstanding scholarship and accomplishment in the fields of public affairs and public administration. There are more than 160 chapters located around the world at colleges and universities that are part of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA). This honor society is open to undergraduate students with a 3.7 GPA after completing 15 hours towards their major in public administration or public policy and graduate students who have earned a 3.7 GPA after completing 18 hours towards their MPA degree.
The Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society fosters scholarly engagement in the study of English literature and language among undergraduates and graduates. To be eligible for membership, students must have completed at least three semesters of college work and a minimum of two college courses in English language or literature beyond the usual requirements of first-year composition courses. Students must also have a minimum of a B or equivalent grade point average in English and rank at least in the top 35 percent of their class.
