Experience Life, June 2, 2012: The challenge of treating Lyme disease includes misdiagnoses based on symptoms often too vague for serologic tests, which in turn is not 100 percent sensitive or specific. But researchers are attacking the infection on several fronts.  UNH biology professor Eva Sapi hypothesizes that nematodes play a role in the tick-borne disease, which would explain why some patients don't get well when treated for Lyme disease alone.
