New Haven Register, July 14, 2012: James W. Ferguson '86 B.S. played for the Salt Lake City Trappers, the lone independent team in the rookie Pioneer League which would make history in the summer of 1987 by setting a professional baseball record with 29 straight victories. “It was probably the best summer of my life,” Ferguson says. The Salt Lake City Bees, now a Triple-A affiliate of the Angels, will honor the team with a pregame ceremony on July 25, and wear throwback Trappers’ uniforms during the evening’s game.
