Engineering Living Learning Community
The Engineering LLC allows first-year engineering and applied science students to live together in a residence hall, take similar courses, meet with faculty mentors throughout the year, and participate in special group activities both in the residence hall and off campus.
The E2LLC offers a variety of enriching activities, including monthly discussion dinners, engineering challenges, 24 Hour Imagination Quests, and tours of companies. Students are also provided with tutoring services in their residence hall. Student experience of the E2LLC program has been extremely pleasing and positive, and has increased student persistence.
The E2LLC also provides its members the opportunity to participate in several activities over their four years in order to earn a certificate. The Engineering Certificate will give students an edge in today's competitive job marketplace. This certificate is part of the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network (KEEN) initiative within the Tagliatela College of Engineering.
The University of New Haven is a proud member of KEEN, a collaboration of universities that strive to instill an entrepreneurial mindset in undergraduate engineering and technology students. KEEN’s mission is to graduate engineers with an entrepreneurial mindset so they can create personal, economic, and societal value through a lifetime of meaningful work.
