Josephine Moran is a seasoned financial services executive with over twenty-five years of leadership experience across community banking, investment services, residential and consumer lending, business banking, and customer experience. As President and CEO of Ledyard National Bank, she leads the strategic direction of a trusted financial institution headquartered in Hanover, New Hampshire. She is a member of the Board as well as the Executive Committee.
Before joining Ledyard, Moran held several executive leadership roles at prominent financial institutions. Prior to Ledyard, she was EVP, Chief Corporate Services and Consumer Lending Officer at Provident Bank, where she also previously led Retail Banking. Her career includes executive roles at both large and regional banks where she consistently demonstrated a strong ability to drive growth, lead high-performing teams, and implement transformative strategies.
Josephine Moran serves on the Board of Directors of the Boston Federal Reserve and is also member of their Audit Committee. Her local leadership includes active roles as Secretary of the New Hampshire Bankers Association’s Board of Directors, member of Legislative Committee, and member of Community Bankers Association BOD. She chairs the Granite United Way Board of Directors and serves on the Board of the New Hampshire’s BIA. Nationally, Josephine represents New Hampshire on the American Bankers Association’s Government Relations Committee and serves on the leadership team of the ABA Women’s CEO Peer Leadership Group.
Moran is deeply committed to education and mentorship. She serves on the Board of Governors at the University of New Haven, where she earned both her Executive MBA and M.S. in Finance and Financial Services. She also chairs the Pompea College of Business Advisory Board as well as the Student Affairs Committee.
Her leadership has been recognized both locally and nationally. Josephine was awarded 2026’s “Woman of the Year” by Vermont Banker’s Association. In 2025, Josephine received the NH Business Review’s Business Excellence Award in the category of Social Equity and was named to Women We Admire’s Top 50 Women Leaders in Banking (2025 and 2026) as well as Top 50 Women Business Leaders in NH. She was recognized by NH Business 200 as a top leader in NH in 2024 and as a Top Women led business by Business NH in ’23. Josephine was named one of Industry Era’s Top Ten Women Leaders and has been featured as part of Thrive Global’s “Meet the Leaders of Finance” series.
Community Service
Ms. Moran was elected to the University of New Haven’s Board of Governors in January 2019 and currently serves as Chair of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee. She is chair of the University of New Haven’s Pompea College of Business Advisory Board and has been a member since 2013. She is also the chair of the University of New Haven's Women's Leadership Council. Ms. Moran serves on the board of the YWCA of Union County and is an advisory council member for the Women’s Business Collaborative, an alliance of national professional women’s organizations working together to achieve equal pay, position, and power for all business women. She previously served as a board member for EverWonder Children’s Museum and the Waterbury Business Women’s Forum.
Education
Moran holds an Executive MBA from the University of New Haven and an M.S. in Finance and Financial Services. She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and received her B.S. in Marketing and Management. In addition, she holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Ms. Moran is a resident of Newtown, Connecticut, and she is the parent of a University of New Haven alumnus.
