Reusable To-Go
Container

From solar panels and other energy efficient technologies to hydration stations and reusable water bottles to tray-less dining and an on-campus greenhouse, the University of New Haven is committed to promoting environmentally friendly initiatives that enhance the experience of the campus community and lessen our impact on the environment.

A Community Commitment to Go Green

The University is committed to be a leader in supporting a greener and more sustainable campus. We are pleased to share that in partnership with Sodexo, we are piloting a program in Westside Hall’s Food on Demand to replace our disposable “to-go” food containers with a program of return and reusable food containers.

Programs such as these are important as they reduce our dependency on our limited natural resources, reduce waste, and lessen greenhouse gases created when producing single-use items. In addition, there are many other benefits associated with a shift to reusable systems as we strive to create a more sustainable campus and world.

Along with the Undergraduate Student Government Association and the University’s Office of Sustainability, we thank you for your support of this program and your commitment to a more sustainable future.
